Introduction

The RKI Touren App (hereinafter “App”) uses location-based data to ensure the functionality of the App. This data makes it possible to determine distances to the next stop on the tour and to provide users with approximate arrival times.

Data collected

The app collects and processes the following data

Location data

IP address
Device ID
Mobile phone number
This data is required for the app to function. The mobile phone number is used together with an SMS as a login method. The device ID prevents multiple devices from being logged in at the same time with the same phone number. Location data is required to calculate the nearest stations.

Data transfer

Data is only passed on to third parties in accordance with legal requirements. We only pass on user data to third parties if this is necessary, for example, on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR for contractual purposes or on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR in the economic and effective operation of our business operations.

If we use subcontractors to provide our services, we take appropriate legal precautions and appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of personal data in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.

If content, tools or other means from other providers (hereinafter jointly referred to as “third-party providers”) are used within the scope of this privacy policy and their registered office is located in a third country, it can be assumed that data will be transferred to the countries in which the third-party providers are based. Third countries are countries in which the GDPR is not directly applicable law, i.e. generally countries outside the EU or the European Economic Area. The transfer of data to third countries takes place either if there is an adequate level of data protection, user consent or other legal permission.

Storage period

The data is stored as proof of past or current tours and is automatically deleted permanently after 12 months.

Access rights and control

Users have the right to obtain information about the data stored about them, as well as a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and the right to data portability. Consent mechanism

The app requires consent to use the location data of company mobile phones that are permanently linked to a vehicle. Users can revoke their consent to the use of location data in the app settings within the Android system. However, revoking consent will result in the app losing its functionality.

Data security

Data processing takes place on servers that are protected by two-factor authentication (2FA) and role-based access controls. Only persons with the role of system administrator have access to the data.

Data transfer

The data is processed and hosted exclusively within the European Union (EU).

Changes to the privacy policy

The privacy policy is reviewed annually. The latest version can be accessed directly in the app.
